Job summary

Evolution Mining’s Ernest Henry Operations in Queensland invites a Geotechnical Engineer to join a world-class underground mine. You’ll manage geotechnical risk, support stability, and collaborate with operations and technical teams to optimize mining outcomes.

Based at Ernest Henry, duties include underground inspections, geotechnical monitoring, data analysis, and mine design reviews, with opportunities to influence planning and safety.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering.
• 3–8 years' experience in mining geomechanics or related.
• Experience in underground or open pit mining.
• Knowledge of rock mechanics, ground support systems and geotechnical monitoring.
• Experience with geotechnical analysis software and mine planning tools.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage geotechnical risks across underground operations.
• Conduct underground inspections and geotechnical assessments.
• Collect, analyse and interpret geotechnical and seismic data.
• Review excavation designs and ground support requirements.
• Support mine planning and sequencing through geotechnical analysis.
• Contribute to audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement.
