Job summary

29Metals Limited in Western Australia is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Golden Grove operation on an 8:6 roster. You will apply geotechnical principles to support safe underground mining, contribute to backfill and ground control planning, and monitor rock mass conditions.

The ideal candidate holds a geotechnical engineering degree, has experience in underground mining, and is proficient with RocScience or Deswik.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in underground mining environments.
• Proficiency with RocScience, Deswik or similar.

Responsibilities

• Developing and improving the Ground Control Management Plan and monitoring systems.
• Supporting the Senior Geotechnical Engineer with ground control, mining methods, and extraction sequences.
• Monitoring geotechnical conditions, deformation, seismicity, and ground support systems.
• Conducting analysis using empirical methods, numerical modelling, and rock mass classification.
• Providing input into mine design and planning, applying lessons learnt and managing geotechnical risks.
• Championing safety through HSEC compliance, incident investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture.
