Job summary

Serco is seeking a General Practitioner to provide primary care at the Defence health facility located at HMAS Kuttabul in Potts Point. The role involves working in an occupational medicine environment with an emphasis on fitness-for-duty assessments, deployment health, and chronic disease management within a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers a fixed-term part-time arrangement (Monday and Tuesday) with predictable hours and wellbeing support, including access to mental health resources

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner.
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration required.
• Minimum two years’ GP experience in the last five years in a General Practice setting.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members.
• Occupational Medicine environment including fitness-for-duty assessments, pre/post-deployment care, injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health.
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount.

About Kuttabul Health Centre

Kuttabul Health Centre is located on HMAS Kuttabul in Potts Point and the area itself has been host to a naval base since 1856. It is home to Fleet Support Unit South-East (FSU-SE) which conducts maintenance on ships and submarines. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, outpatients, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy services to the ADF population. This mid-size health centre has up to 4,500 members and provides services for overseas visiting personnel. Standard operating hours are 0730-1530 Monday-Friday.
