Serco is seeking a General Practitioner to deliver high-quality primary care to Defence personnel at Puckapunyal Health Centre. The role focuses on occupational medicine, fitness-for-duty assessments, and preventive care within a multidisciplinary team on an on-base civilian assignment.
The position offers weekend shifts with predictable hours and civilian engagement, including nurse-led low-dependency care and ongoing on-call support. Morning GP walk-ins on weekends are expected.
Puckapunyal Military Area is located approximately 13km west of Seymour. This was first used as a mobilisation and training area during WWI and was formally established in the early 1940's. It is home to the Headquarters of the Combined Arms Training Centre, Army Knowledge Centre and Schools of Artillery & Transport. The health centre services up to 4000 Defence members and provides primary medical, aviation medical, outpatients, nursing, physiotherapy, dental, pharmaceutical and mental health. An RN led 12-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7 with GP on-call offsite. Morning unscheduled walk-ins (Sick Parade) standard operating hours generally from 08:00 - 10:00 Saturday and Sunday.
