Job summary

B.V.A Metal Fabrications in Picton, WA, is looking for a full-time Metal Fabricator with at least two years of experience and a strong workmanship ethic.

You will read and interpret technical drawings, prepare metal stock, operate press and guillotine machines, TIG & MIG weld using mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, grind welds, and maintain OH&S standards. Uniforms and boots are supplied after the 3-month qualifying period.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified metal fabricator with minimum 2 years experience.
• Hold AQF Certificate III or higher.
• Hold a current C class driver's licence and forklift ticket.
• Strong workmanship and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply technical drawings.
• Prepare metal stock and operate press and guillotine to cut, shape and bend.
• Weld with TIG & MIG on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Grind and finish welds to a high standard.
• Follow OH&S requirements at all times.

B.V.A Metal Fabrications is an established engineering business based in Picton W.A., 5 minutes out of Bunbury, which has been in operation since 1989. We service the mining, timber, industrial, building and food processing industries with workshop fabrication, onsite installations, maintenance and laser cutting.

Due to the growth of our business, we are currently looking for a full-time Metal Fabricator to join our team.

The ideal candidate is trade qualified and has at least two (2) years work experience as a Metal Fabricator. Candidates need to demonstrate a high level of workmanship. Uniforms and boots supplied after 3 month Qualifying period.

As a Metal Fabricator your everyday responsibilities will include:

• Understanding and interpreting technical drawings.
• Choosing and preparing metal stock and operating metal press & guillotine machinery to cut, shape and bend metal.
• TIG & MIG welding using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium to join metal sections.
• Grinding and cleaning up of welds to finish products.
• Following OH & S requirements.

In addition, the right candidate will be required to:

• Hold a relevant AQF Certificate III or higher (or equivalent)
• Hold a current C class drivers’ licence.
• Hold a forklift ticket.
• Present with a strong work ethic.
• Be a strong team player.
• Prove to be reliable.
• Follow job specifications.
• Follow verbal directions.

This is a full-time position offering a generous salary between $90,000 to $150,000 plus superannuation to the right candidate (depending on experience).
