IM Partners is recruiting on behalf of Skyworld for an experienced Metal Fabricator to join its established workshop and project team in Beverley.

Skyworld is a long-standing South Australian business specialising in architectural glazing, fabrication and installation solutions across commercial, industrial and domestic projects.

This is a genuine hands‑on fabrication role working predominantly with aluminium and stainless steel. You will work from blueprints and specifications through to the finished product, producing custom architectural metalwork including balustrades, fencing, gates, screens, handrails, stair components, frames and structural aluminium assemblies.

The role combines workshop fabrication with project-site installation, with the balance varying depending on project requirements.

The role Working from fabrication drawings and project specifications, you will:

  • read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings and technical specifications;
  • measure and mark out aluminium and stainless steel stock to required dimensions;
  • fabricate using plate, RHS and SHS, extrusions, tube, pipe, angle and other metal sections;
  • cut and prepare components using drop saws, grinders, hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment;
  • drill, notch, mitre, tap and otherwise prepare components for fabrication;
  • bend, roll, straighten, shape and form metal sections to required dimensions and profiles;
  • position and align components using measuring equipment, jigs, clamps and squares;
  • assemble fabricated components using bolting, riveting, screws and other mechanical fastening methods;
  • prepare components for MIG or TIG welding and work alongside qualified welders where required;
  • assemble fabricated sections into completed products and structural assemblies;
  • grind, deburr, linish, file and polish completed fabrication to achieve a high‑quality architectural finish;
  • check dimensions, tolerances, alignment, fit and finish against drawings and specifications;
  • undertake adjustments or rework where required;
  • inspect completed fabricated products prior to installation or dispatch;
  • install completed fabricated products and assemblies on project sites; and
  • provide practical direction to Trades Assistants and apprentices where required.
About you

This role will suit an experienced Metal Fabricator who can work confidently from a drawing through to a completed product and takes pride in accurate fabrication and quality workmanship.

You will have either:

  • a relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent, together with at least 2 years’ relevant fabrication experience; or
  • at least 3 years’ relevant metal fabrication experience where you do not hold a formal trade qualification.

You will also bring:

  • demonstrated aluminium and stainless steel fabrication experience;
  • experience working from fabrication drawings, blueprints and specifications;
  • confidence fabricating from raw metal stock rather than undertaking assembly‑only work;
  • strong measuring, marking out and fabrication skills;
  • experience producing architectural fabrication where fit, accuracy and visible finish matter;
  • the ability to work independently and make routine fabrication decisions;
  • a current driver’s licence; and
  • a Construction White Card.

Working at Heights, EWP and forklift tickets will be highly regarded.

MIG or TIG welding capability is advantageous, but this is primarily a Metal Fabricator position rather than a dedicated welding role.

Why this opportunity?

This is not repetitive production‑line fabrication.

You will work across varied custom architectural products, with the opportunity to take work from raw material and drawings through fabrication, finishing and installation.

You will join an established South Australian business with a well‑equipped Beverley facility and a strong pipeline of project work.

All applications and enquiries will be managed confidentially by IM Partners.
