Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in a similar metal fabrication role or relevant qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and fabrication plans.
• Experience with welding and assembling metal components.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and technical specs to determine fabrication requirements.
• Cut, shape, bend and form metal using tools and machinery.
• Fabricate and repair metal components for milling, production and handling.
• Align, fit and assemble fabricated parts with measuring instruments.
• Join components using welding, bolting or riveting as required.
• Inspect welds and fabrications for accuracy and quality.
• Finish welds and clean components to required standards.
• Carry out fabrication tasks on structures, guards and equipment.
• Operate tools safely and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

$79K PA - $85K PA plus super BEN FURNEY FLOUR MILLS PTY LTD is looking for a full-time Metal Fabricator to join their team. Ben Furney Flour Mills is a family-owned Australian flour manufacturer based in Dubbo, regional NSW.

The company produces a diverse range of flour and speciality products, supplying customers across the food manufacturing, bakery and hospitality industries. With a strong history in Australian flour milling, Ben Furney Flour Mills operates a modern manufacturing facility supported by specialised milling, production, storage and handling equipment. The company is committed to quality, innovation and supporting Australian agriculture, sourcing grain from Australian growers and producing flour products for customers across the country.

To be considered for the role, you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Interpret drawings, fabrication plans and technical specifications to determine job and fabrication requirements.
• Select, measure, prepare and mark out steel and other metal materials for fabrication.
• Cut, shape, bend and form metal sections and components using hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery.
• Fabricate and repair metal components and structures used within the company’s milling, production and material handling operations.
• Align, fit and assemble fabricated components using measuring instruments and appropriate fabrication techniques.
• Join metal components using appropriate welding techniques, bolting and riveting as required.
• Inspect fabricated components and welded assemblies to ensure dimensional accuracy, weld quality and correct fit.
• Grind, clean, smooth and finish welds and fabricated metal components to the required standard.
• Carry out fabrication and repair work on metal structures, supports, guards and equipment components as required within the manufacturing facility.
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely while maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to complete fabrication and repair work efficiently and to the required quality standards.
