Micador Group in Cheltenham (Victoria) is seeking a General Manager – Operations to run the business from factory to customer, owning forecast, factories, freight and the 3PL, with a hands-on leadership approach.

You'll work in a fast-moving, seasonal environment; the role offers a market salary of 170k–190k plus super and a hybrid work setup with the option to work from home up to two days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience running offshore supply for an importer, wholesaler or consumer brand.
• Experience in a medium-sized business with broad ownership of end-to-end operations.
• Owned a forecast and managed consequences.
• Managed a 3PL relationship and/or in-house warehouse with carrier set.
• Led a team and driven performance improvements.
• Experience with change management and delivering results.
• Proficiency with modern tools and AI in operations.

• Inbound freight, customs and container planning
• Manage 3PL contracts, KPIs, and storage; on-site every fortnight
• Oversee outbound carriers and delivery to national retail and B2B
• Uphold customer operations standards from order to delivery
• Maintain price lists and ERP price maintenance
• Coordinate sales and marketing calendar to ensure launches land on dates
• Lead and build the operations team

About the role

Reporting to the Owner, you'll run Micador's operations from factory to customer, plus the operating rhythm that keeps the whole business on its dates. Stock in the right place at the right cost. Orders out on time and in full. Launches, campaigns and range reviews delivered on the day we said they would be. And the weekly numbers that prove it.

This is not a warehouse role. You'll own the forecast, the factories and the freight as much as the 3PL. Our supply chain is global: offshore factories coming in, growing international channels going out.

We're growing, and this is a new role. We want an operator who cares, does what they say they will, and plays to win: someone who'd rather build what's next than babysit what's there. You'll lead our Operations Systems & Data Lead. This role is well paid because you're not coming to learn on the job. You've done this before, and you'll do it better here. Here you're heard, and good ideas get implemented fast. There are no layers, no red tape and no bureaucracy between you and the decision.

We're a seasonal business, so Back to School and Christmas set the pace. You'll be out in the business: at the warehouse, on the phone to factories and with our customers. Based in Cheltenham, with the option to work from home up to two days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Offshore production and supplier performance: schedules, quality control and landed cost
• Inbound freight, customs and the container plan
• 3PL relationship: contract, KPIs and storage, with you on site every fortnight
• Outbound carriers and delivery performance to national retail and B2B customers
• Customer operations standards from order to delivery. When something goes wrong, the customer hears it from us first.
• Price list and ERP price maintenance
• Sales and marketing calendar as the single timeline, so launches, campaigns and range reviews land on the agreed dates
• Leading and building the operations team

About you

You're a gun operator with a process head, and you like to win. You do what you say you'll do, and people know it. You care about our customers, our team and getting it right. You'd rather be at the warehouse than in a meeting, and you call the customer before the customer calls you. You have:

• Run offshore supply for an importer, wholesaler or consumer brand, factory to customer
• Done it in a medium-sized business, where you know what it takes to make things happen without a department behind you
• Owned a forecast and lived with the consequences
• Managed a 3PL relationship (KPIs and contract) and/or an in-house warehouse, plus a carrier set
• Run a business rhythm across people who don't report to you, and stayed well liked doing it
• Led a team, including working through underperformance
• Carried an operation through change and kept it delivering
• A genuine tech curiosity: you run modern tools and AI yourself, not only through others
• An uncompromising attitude to accuracy and focus on detail
• High level of responsibility for own actions and performance
• Experience in stationery, education, toys or art supplies, EDI with national retailers, Amazon or other overseas marketplaces, or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is highly advantageous.
