Job summary

Ozanimart in Melbourne CBD is seeking a hands-on Business Operations Manager to lead a small team and own the company’s numbers.

You will implement routines, build reports, oversee sales, buying, supply chain, marketing and events, and drive lean process improvements with ERP (Odoo) and Xero integrations. The role offers direct access to the owner and growth paths within a fast-moving wholesale business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operations or business management with team leadership.
• Proven ability to implement processes and monitor KPIs.
• Comfortable managing a P&L, cash, and month-end with finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the team: weekly leadership meetings, one-on-ones, and accountability.
• Establish weekly routines and KPIs for each role.
• Own monthly management reporting and margin analysis.
• Run stock controls: reconciliations, deposits, embargoes.
• Manage third-party warehouse and reduce fulfilment costs.
• Maintain stock discipline with buyer: inventory turns and aging.
• Lead systems work on ERP (Odoo) and link to Xero; utilize Monday.com, spreadsheets and AI tools.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Full-time, permanent | Melbourne CBD (on-site) | $120,000 + super + performance bonus

ABOUT OZANIMART

Ozanimart is a Melbourne wholesale distributor of trading card games, blind boxes, collectibles and gifts. We supply more than 600 retailers across Australia and New Zealand, and hold official distribution for brands including Bushiroad, Bandai Gashapon and Iwako. We're a team of about twelve, and we're growing quickly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll run the business day to day: lead the team, own the numbers, and build the systems people actually follow.

We've grown on strong products, close supplier relationships and a capable team. The next stage needs a business that runs on reliable numbers, sound controls and clear routines, not on any one person. That's your job.

You’ll report to the Director and lead the whole team: sales, buying, supply chain, marketing and events.

We want to run the business the Lean way: cut waste, fix the process rather than blame the person, and measure before and after.

This is hands‑on. You’ll build the routine, the report or the workflow yourself before you ask anyone else to use it. If you need a layer of staff under you to get things done, this isn’t the job. If you’ve wanted to own how a whole business runs, it is.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead and manage the team: a weekly leadership meeting, one‑on‑ones, and holding people to what they committed to
• Get every role running a weekly routine and reporting the right KPIs, and keep it that way
• Own the numbers: monthly management reporting, margin by category and channel, and a tight month‑end with our accounting team
• Run the controls that protect the business: stock reconciliations, customer deposits, and release embargoes
• Manage our third‑party warehouse and bring fulfilment cost down
• Own stock discipline with our buyer: inventory turns, aged stock and buying within agreed limits
• Lead the systems work on our Odoo ERP and its link to Xero, and use Monday.com, spreadsheets and AI tools to make all of this lighter, not heavier

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 5+ years in operations or business management at a small or mid‑sized business, including managing a team directly, ideally including sales or customer‑facing staff
• A system or process you built that's still running after you stopped pushing it, and the numbers to show it
• Comfortable having the direct conversation early, including with people who've been here longer than you
• Confident with a P&L, stock reports and cash, and comfortable working with finance on month‑end
• Integrity and discretion. You'll see everyone's numbers
• Coachable. You take feedback and change what you do

IT'S AN ADVANTAGE IF YOU HAVE

• Experience with an ERP (Odoo, NetSuite, MYOB Advanced, Cin7 or similar), especially leading a change on one
• Experience managing a 3PL, warehouse provider or other service provider
• Lean or Lean Six Sigma training
• A wholesale, distribution or e‑commerce background
• A degree or diploma in business, management, operations or accounting
