Mulungu Aboriginal Corporation in Mareeba invites applications for the General Manager Health Services. You will lead strategic direction to enhance community health outcomes and ensure culturally appropriate service delivery across Health, Social and Corporate Services.

You will oversee client care, quality systems, stakeholder engagement, and resource management in a governance-conscious, collaborative executive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field; master's preferred.
• Senior leadership experience in ATSI primary health.
• Strong understanding of social determinants of health and population health.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with collaboration focus.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating health programs for Indigenous health.
• Current Drivers Licence, Working with Children Card, and Federal Police Check (within 6 months).

Position Overview

The General Manager Health Services will play a pivotal role in assisting the CEO to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate health services. This position is responsible for aligning strategic health initiatives with the overall business objectives of Mulungu, ensuring the achievement of performance targets while maintaining compliance and governance standards.

As a leader within the Executive Team, the General Manager will oversee multiple work areas, including client care, leadership, quality systems, stakeholder engagement, and resource management. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a cohesive workforce dedicated to meeting the health needs of our community.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in health services management, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts. You will have demonstrated experience in leading large teams, ensuring quality service delivery, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Proven experience in senior leadership roles within healthcare, preferably in ATSI primary health.
• Strong understanding of social determinants of health and the ability to implement systems-based approaches to improve health outcomes.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and evaluate health programs for improving population and indigenous health within a Comprehensive Primary Health Care framework.
• Current Drivers Licence, Working with Children (Blue Card) and current Federal Police Check (within the last six months)
