Job description

Reporting to the Global Product Officer, the General Manager, Cooking holds end-to-end strategic, commercial and product leadership accountability for Breville's global Cooking portfolio.

What You'll Do
  • Set the strategy. Own the commercial and consumer strategy for the Cooking portfolio, shaping category plans and product roadmaps that respond to consumer needs, market opportunities and Breville's broader business ambitions.
  • Build a winning product portfolio. Identify and prioritise the opportunities that can create meaningful consumer and commercial value, from new product platforms through to the evolution of existing categories.
  • Own the commercial outcomes. Lead portfolio P&L thinking, business cases, investment prioritisation and ROI, balancing revenue, margin, consumer fit and brand relevance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Turn strategy into execution. Ensure the portfolio delivers high-quality products on time, on brief and within budget. Make timely trade-offs, unblock issues and keep teams focused on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Lead through the matrix. Create clarity across Category Managers, Product Development Managers and specialist functional teams, aligning priorities and resources while maintaining the technical excellence of Breville's functional domains.
  • Shape future innovation. Identify knowledge gaps and emerging opportunities and commission consumer research and R&D that can create future category and product advantage.
  • Build high-performing teams. Create an environment characterised by clarity, pace, creativity, collaboration and accountability. Coach and empower leaders rather than becoming the decision bottleneck.
  • Influence across Breville. Represent the Cooking portfolio in enterprise planning and senior leadership forums, building strong relationships across functions, geographies and regional business units.
About You
  • 5-7+ years' experience across Product Management, Product Development or Business Management
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related discipline

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Demonstrated success leading and influencing cross-functional teams in a complex, matrixed organisation
  • Strong judgement and the confidence to make decisions and navigate competing priorities
  • A pioneering and curious mindset, with a genuine passion for products, consumers and innovation
  • Strong leadership, influencing, facilitation and communication capability
  • A collaborative approach and openness to challenge, different perspectives and new ideas.
