Breville enhancespeople’s lives through the delivery of brilliant innovation and thoughtfuldesign based on deep consumer insights, empowering people to do things moreimpressively or easily than they’d thought possible in their own home andultimately allowing them to “Master Every Moment”.

A career atBreville is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s more than working for aglobal leader; it’s an opportunity to be a part of something that impactspeople all over the world.
About the Role

We are seeking an assistant/associatecategory manager or junior category manager ready to step up into full ownershipof multiple portfolios for the Australian and New Zealand markets acrossBreville and Kambrook brands. This is a growth opportunity for someone ready andcomfortable taking ownership and running the categories end to end.

You will have a clear mandate toidentify and execute margin and portfolio-growth opportunities across the portfoliosusing commercial levers or development of new products as you see fit tomaximise commercial outcomes. Above all, this role needs someone who can hold aclear, well-defined view of category scope and market position, and who iscomfortable making commercial trade-off calls at pace rather than waiting forperfect information — this is a hands-on, commercially minded category role forsomeone who enjoys owning end-to-end outcomes, not just executing their part ofthe plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the category — full category management of the distribution Home + Breakfast portfolio (Water, Air, Seasonal, Toasters, Kettles, Kettle & Toaster Pack Ups, Garment Care) across Australia and New Zealand
  • Own the category P&L end-to-end — NNR, CM and CM% — including budget setting, forecasting and in-year performance management
  • Maintain a sharp read — on category scope, competitive position and where Breville plays to win versus where it doesn't, and use that view to prioritise ruthlessly
  • Optimise Consumables — review & adjust approach in consumables and non-electric product lines, including fridge filters (Aquaport) and other water/filter accessories, to maximise commercial outcomes
  • Engage directly and problem-solve — day-to-day with Engineering, Sourcing and Development teams — surfacing issues early, working through them jointly, and making fast, well-reasoned commercial trade-off calls (cost vs. spec, speed vs. certainty) rather than escalating every decision
  • Identify and execute margin improvements — through market or pricing opportunities or sourcing opportunities, the market is your canvas
  • Scope and lead new category expansion opportunities — scope and manage business case opportunities for new categories with a lens on not just sourcing but ability to execute in market to grow whilst underpinning performance on the current core range
  • Partner closely with — the NPD Lead Engineer, LCM Lead Engineer, Product, Go To Market team, Planning, Distribution Development Manager, Sales and Finance to ensure end-to-end delivery from category strategy through to launch and in-market performance
  • Represent the category in leadership forums — providing clear, data-led recommendations to cross functional teams to ensure commercial health of the portfolios
  • Consult — closely with Sales and Marketing, and help shape future product development priorities for the ANZ market
We’re Interested in Hearing from People Who Have:
  • Proven experience — in category management, brand management or product management, ideally within consumer durables, appliances, with commercial accountability.
  • A sharp sense of scope and market position — you can articulate exactly what you own, where the category sits competitively, and what matters most right now
  • A track record — of identifying and delivering commercial improvement — margin, sourcing or pricing — backed by data & collaboration with cross functional team
  • A natural collaborator and problem-solver — with Engineering, Sourcing and Development teams — someone who rolls up their sleeves, gets into the detail with technical teams, and helps unblock rather than waiting for issues to be resolved elsewhere
  • Sound judgement on commercial trade-offs — confident weighing cost, spec, timeline and risk against each other and making a call, rather than seeking consensus on every decision
  • A genuine sense of speed and agility — a bias for moving quickly and iterating, over waiting for the fully-formed plan
  • Comfortable — owning a category end-to-end, from sourcing and retailer negotiation through to in-market commercial performance
  • Strong analytical skills — confident working with budget, sell-in/sell-out and margin data to build a business case and track performance
  • Excellent stakeholder management — this role partners closely with engineering, product, marketing, sales, finance and supply chain team
  • A sharp nose for the real problem — someone who sees opportunities, works through what the issue really is, and solves for that, relentlessly curiousity
  • Strong project and time management — comfortable scoping and running multiple projects and timelines concurrently
  • A polished presenter and networker — able to build relationships and influence across the broader Breville business
What we offer you:
  • Competitive compensation package
  • A fun and rewarding team environment
  • Opportunity to work for an Australian Stock Exchange listed company
  • Employee assistance program
  • Paid parental leave policy
  • Employee discounts of up to 40% on all our electrical products
  • Corporate health andwellness benefits
