Job summary

Roussos Recruitment in Adelaide seeks a General Manager to build a new civil construction operation in South Australia. You will lead growth, oversee delivery and build a local team with equity potential.

Reporting to the COO, you will leverage existing conversations and relationships in Adelaide's subdivision and urban infrastructure markets, while shaping culture and performance for long-term profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the South Australian growth strategy
• Build on existing client relationships and opportunities already developing locally
• Strengthen relationships with developers, consultants, councils and key industry stakeholders
• Identify and secure the right projects to establish a sustainable pipeline
• Work closely with estimating and pre-contract teams to strategically pursue opportunities
• Recruit and develop the South Australian team as the business grows
• Oversee commercial performance, operations and project delivery
• Establish a strong local culture aligned with the broader organisation's values
• Build a respected and profitable South Australian civil construction business
• Take responsibility for establishing and growing the South Australian operation
• Your initial focus will be leveraging conversations and relationships already underway while strengthening the organisation's presence across Adelaide's subdivision and urban infrastructure market

The Role:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the broader leadership group, you will take responsibility for establishing and growing the South Australian operation.

Your initial focus will be leveraging the conversations and relationships already underway while continuing to strengthen the organisation's presence across Adelaide's subdivision and urban infrastructure market.

You will:

• Develop and execute the South Australian growth strategy

You will have genuine autonomy locally, but you won't be building without support.

Behind you will be an established Victorian operation, a strong balance sheet, experienced leadership, proven systems and more than six decades of civil construction capability.

Who We Are Looking For:

This opportunity is suited to someone who is currently based in Adelaide or a South Australian looking to return home who has maintained strong relationships and credibility within the local market.

You may currently be a General Manager, State Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager or senior civil leader ready for something bigger.
