Job summary

EMS (SA) Pty Ltd in South Australia seeks an experienced civil project manager to lead a new civil construction business. You will oversee tendering, programming, cost control and delivery while building capability and client relationships from day one.

You will bring a civil engineering degree or equivalent industry experience, with a proven track record in estimating, pricing and delivering civil projects across SA, and strong commercial and contract acumen.

Build a civil business from the ground up

A well-established and well-resourced South Australian construction group is establishing a new civil construction business and is seeking an experienced leader to lead its growth.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape this business from the outset, supported from day one by new plant and equipment, an experienced workforce, and the backing of a group with a strong track record across structural concrete, formwork, piling and civil infrastructure.

You will have the direct support of the group's directors and senior construction leadership across strategy, commercial and delivery, while leading the day-to-day operation of the business.

We are looking for an experienced civil project manager, ideally engineering-qualified, who is comfortable wearing a number of hats in the early stages and helping to steer the business as it establishes. You will be motivated by building something significant and enduring, with a long-term outlook rather than a focus on short-term reward, and prepared to invest the effort required to establish the business well.

The role

Price and win civil construction work across South Australia

About you

A civil engineering degree, or equivalent industry experience

A proven track record estimating, pricing and delivering civil construction projects

Established relationships across the South Australian civil construction industry

Sound commercial and contract acumen

A hands-on, roll-your-sleeves-up leadership style and the drive to build something

Strong communication and stakeholder skills

Current SA driver's licence, valid White Card and full working rights in Australia
