You don't need to be the best engineer in the room, but you need to know how to make the whole business perform better.

This established Sydney engineering consultancy is looking for a General Manager / COO to work alongside its directors and take genuine responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the business.

The technical leaders know engineering. Your role is broader, bringing together the people, finances, resources, systems and accountability that allow them to perform.

WHO COULD DO IT?

You may already be a General Manager, COO, Operations Manager, Commercial Manager or senior business leader within engineering, construction, infrastructure or a related professional-services environment from the engineering space.

You do not need to be an engineer.

What matters is that you understand how a professional business operates, people, money, utilisation, project commitments, clients and performance, and have the judgement and credibility to work effectively with senior technical professionals.

You will need strong commercial and financial capability, but equally important is the ability to bring people with you when introducing change.
