The ideal candidate has proven experience in scaling a professional services firm, preferably in engineering or multidisciplinary consulting, and can lead through a founder-led transition

An established Sydney multidisciplinary engineering consultancy has reached the point where its next stage of growth requires an experienced business leader working alongside its Managing Director and senior leadership team.

The foundations are already there.

An established client base. Significant projects. Strong technical capability. Multiple engineering disciplines. An experienced team.

The next challenge is scaling the business successfully.

- and that creates an unusual opportunity for an experienced General Manager, Operations Manager or COO who has previously was involved in an engineering or consulting business move successfully from one stage of growth to the next.

This isn't simply an operations role.

• This is about helping shape the next version of the business.
• How do you scale without losing what made the company successful?
• What systems, people and management structures need to change as the organisation becomes larger?
• How do you improve commercial performance and profitability?
• Where should the business invest?
• How do you create greater accountability without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy?

Your experience matters more than your qualification.

• You do not necessarily need to be an engineer.
• Ideally, you will have worked within an engineering consultancy, multidisciplinary consultancy or closely related professional services organisation where highly skilled technical professionals are at the core of the business.
• Most importantly, you will have evidence that you have helped scale a business.
• The experience of successfully managing that journey is.
• Introduced the operational, commercial and management disciplines that allowed a founder-led organisation to move into its next phase.
• Expand teams, revenue, services or markets while protecting the culture and technical quality that originally made the business successful.
