Job summary

YC Recruitment seeks a reliable Production Assistant for our Morwell manufacturing team. You will contribute to manual assembly, on-floor operations, quality checks and general plant support to ensure smooth production flow and adherence to WHS standards.

You must hold a valid Australian Forklift Licence (LF). Forklift use is occasional, with emphasis on safe handling and teamwork to keep production flowing and meet quality standards.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and physically fit Production Assistant to join our manufacturing and production team. In this role, the vast majority of your day-to-day responsibilities will involve manual assembly, floor operations, quality checks, and general plant support.

While you must hold a valid Forklift Licence (LF), forklift operation is not the primary focus of this role; it will only be required occasionally for loading, unloading, or moving materials as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Operations (Approx. 85-90% of the role): Feed raw materials into production machinery, assist with assembly line tasks, pack and label finished goods, and monitor processes for quality control.


• Manual Handling: Perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, bending, sorting, and staging materials safely using proper manual handling techniques.


• Occasional Forklift Operation (Approx. 10-15% of the role): Safely operate a forklift truck to load/unload incoming shipments, move heavy pallets, or restock warehouse racking.


• Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free production floor. Actively adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies.


• Team Support: Assist supervisors and senior operators with routine maintenance, inventory counts, and general factory tasks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licensing: Must hold a valid, current Australian Forklift Licence (LF).


• Physical Fitness: High level of physical stamina and fitness. You must be comfortable standing for extended periods and routinely lifting up to 20-25kg.


• Safety & Compliance: Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation, including mandatory drug and alcohol screening. Random testing is conducted on-site to ensure a safe working environment.


• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong attention to detail.


• Communication: Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and communicate effectively with the production team.
