Coastal Digestive Health in Maroochydore is seeking a seasoned Medical Receptionist to join their specialist gastroenterology practice on a part-time basis, three days per week.

In this busy role you will welcome patients, book appointments, process referrals, manage medical records and correspondence, handle Medicare and private health fund claims, take payments, and support the doctors and administrative team to ensure a smooth patient journey.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical reception, preferably within a specialist practice.
• Confident working in a busy healthcare environment.
• Professional, friendly and approachable.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with patients, doctors, specialists and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and providing exceptional customer service.
• Booking and managing patient appointments.
• Processing referrals and ensuring appropriate information is received.
• Managing specialist correspondence and medical records.
• Processing Medicare and private health fund claims.
• Taking payments and balancing daily transactions.
• Managing patient enquiries in person, by phone and electronically.
• Liaising with GPs, hospitals and other healthcare providers.
• Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Assisting with recalls, follow-ups and appointment confirmations.
• Maintaining accurate patient information and records.
• Supporting the doctors and clinical team with general administrative duties.
