Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited is seeking a Gardener/General Mill Worker for Plane Creek Mill in Sarina. The role covers grounds maintenance, operating mowers and assisting with maintenance, plus general labour throughout crush season.

You will work outdoors in a varied environment, require a current manual driving licence, and demonstrate hands-on accuracy, teamwork and safety awareness while supporting trades and plant operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
• A current manual driver’s licence.
• Confidence operating machinery and power tools.
• The ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Great communication skills and a genuine team mentality.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• A strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Keep It Looking Sharp – Maintain gardens, lawns and grounds across the mill site.
• Get Behind the Equipment – Safely operate zero-turn and push mowers, whipper snippers, power tools and other machinery.
• Get Hands-On – Assist tradespeople with maintenance and repairs across the mill.
• Keep Things Moving – Take care of housekeeping, cleaning and general labouring duties.
• Get Stuck In During Crush – Support the mill team with hosing, air lancing, cleaning and general housekeeping.
• Part of the Team – Pitch in wherever needed and support your colleagues to get the job done.
• Put Safety First – Follow safe work practices and ensure permits and risk assessments are completed.

Wilmar Sugar is looking for a Gardener/General Mill Worker to join our team at Plane Creek Mill in Sarina – and we’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, take ownership and get stuck in.

This isn’t your typical gardening job!

One day you could be keeping the mill grounds looking their best, operating a zero-turn mower or maintaining gardens. The next, you could be supporting tradespeople, helping with maintenance activities or getting involved in the fast-paced action of crushing season.

MORE THAN JUST A GARDENING JOB

You’ll play an important role in keeping the Proserpine Mill site safe, tidy and operating efficiently.

Your day could include:
