Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited is seeking a Pan Boiler Assistant to production of high-grade sugar. You will monitor batch pans, assess crystal size and massecuite quality, and make adjustments to ensure sugar quality is met. Shift work during crushing season, with overtime and maintenance work Jan–May, in Ingham.

Qualified candidates should have sugar processing experience, working at heights, confined space, and relevant high-risk licences. Training will be provided if needed.

Qualifications

  • Sugar processing experience required or highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse teams.
  • Basic mechanical skills and willingness to learn maintenance aspects.
  • Maintain safety and complete required station/maintenance training.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-grade sugar by monitoring batch pans and adjusting process.
  • Assess crystal size and massecuite quality and modify as needed.
  • Ensure sugar quality targets are met; work with operations team.
  • Undertake training to complete station and maintenance competencies.

Job description

As a Pan Boiler Assistant at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will be responsible for the production of high-grade sugar. This includes monitoring and controlling batch pans, assessing crystal size and massecuite quality and making required changes to ensure sugar quality is met. Initially located at Victoria Mill, Ingham offers a laid-back lifestyle, with stunning island beaches and exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. Whether you're into fishing and boating, hiking, or just chilling by the beach, the Herbert Region has it all waiting for you. This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season (June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (Jan - May).

Your Winning Combination

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (including familiarity communicating via UHF) and demonstrable ability to work alongside a range of different people. Basic mechanical skills will be highly regarded.
