Endeavour Group is seeking a Gaming Manager for the Balaclava Hotel in Cairns. The role focuses on guest-centric service, leading the gaming room team, and ensuring compliance and premium room standards on the floor.

The successful candidate will own host operations, drive gaming trade results, and work closely with the Publican to ensure smooth, compliant operations and superior guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Candidates must demonstrate hands-on gaming room leadership.
• Experience supervising a gaming room or similar venue.
• Current RSA and RSG/RCG as per state requirements.

About the Role

Gaming Manager | Balaclava Hotel

Are you an experienced gaming leader with a passion for high-touch player service and room atmosphere? The Balaclava Hotel is looking for a dedicated Gaming Manager to take ownership of our busy gaming room, direct host operations, and drive room standards across our flagship Cairns room.

In this role, you will be the driving force on the floor, combining genuine guest hosting with sharp technical operations, compliance management, and staff leadership. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll focus on maintaining a premium room environment, building long-term player loyalty, and delivering outstanding gaming trade results.

A day in the life of a Gaming Manager:

• Know the regulars by name and make them feel right at home
• Work closely with the Publican to keep the room running smoothly, safely, and within all the rules
• Share your gaming know-how and help your team be the best in the biz
• Bring the good vibes, great service, and friendly smiles every shift

Inherent requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you

• You’ve been in the gaming room world for a while, as an attendant, supervisor, or manager
• You’ve learned from great managers and are ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the gaming room
• You understand compliance and safe gaming inside out
• You’ve got a current RSA and RSG/RCG as per state requirements
