Job summary

AVC Operations Pty Limited – Cairns North QLD is seeking an experienced Gaming Manager to own gaming operations at the Daunwoody's Hotel venue. The role focuses on driving revenue, ensuring excellent guest experiences and maintaining high compliance standards.

You will lead daily gaming operations, manage promotions, and collaborate with senior leadership to deliver strong commercial results while upholding responsible gambling practices. This is a hands-on leadership position in a busy venue.

Qualifications

• Experience as Gaming Manager or senior gaming team member.
• Strong understanding of gaming KPIs and revenue performance.
• Knowledge of Queensland gaming compliance and responsible gambling requirements.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a team.
• RSA/RSG certificates, RMLV/Approved Manager approvals, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day gaming operations and maintain a strong floor presence.
• Drive gaming revenue, performance and KPIs.
• Review results and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Support gaming promotions and customer engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Queensland gaming legislation and responsible gambling requirements.
• Maintain harm-minimisation and self-exclusion procedures.
• Manage operational audits, cash controls and reporting.
• Recruit, train, coach and develop gaming team members.
• Collaborate with Venue Manager and leadership teams.
• Deliver a welcoming and responsible guest experience.

Australian Venue Co. is looking for experienced Gaming Managers to join our teams across Queensland.

We currently have an opportunity at: Daunwoody's Hotel.

As Gaming Manager you will take ownership of gaming operations within venue, working closely with the Venue Manager to deliver strong commercial results, excellent guest experiences and consistently high compliance standards.

About the role

As Gaming Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and performance of the gaming room at your venue.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading daily gaming operations and maintaining a strong floor presence
• Driving gaming revenue, performance and agreed KPIs
• Reviewing results and identifying opportunities to improve performance
• Supporting gaming promotions and customer engagement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with Queensland gaming legislation and responsible gambling requirements
• Maintaining harm-minimisation and self-exclusion procedures
• Managing operational audits, cash controls and reporting
• Recruiting, training, coaching and developing gaming team members
• Working closely with the Venue Manager and broader leadership team
• Delivering a welcoming and responsible experience for every guest

About you

You'll ideally bring:

• Previous experience as a Gaming Manager, Gaming Supervisor or senior gaming team member
• Strong commercial understanding of gaming performance and KPIs
• Sound knowledge of Queensland gaming compliance and responsible gambling requirements
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a team
• Strong communication, organisation and customer-service skills
• A hands‑on leadership style
• Flexibility to work peak trading periods, including evenings and weekends
• Current Queensland RSA and RSG certificates
• Current RMLV and Approved Manager approval, or willingness to obtain them
• A current Gaming Nominee licence, or eligibility and willingness to obtain it
• Customer Liaison Officer experience is desirable but not essential
