Job summary

SkyPoint, perched atop the Q1 Building on the Gold Coast, seeks an experienced Functions & Events Supervisor to lead premium events and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will oversee operational preparation, lead on‑floor delivery, and coordinate setup while ensuring safety and HACCP compliance.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience within events, hospitality, food and beverage or another guest‑focused environment.
• Experience delivering functions or premium hospitality experiences.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to turn event requirements into an effective operational plan.
• The confidence to lead team briefings, allocate responsibilities and maintain service standards.
• A genuine passion for creating outstanding guest experiences.
• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. An RMLV would be highly regarded.
• Experience using point‑of‑sale systems and managing cash‑handling processes.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Job description

Lead premium events from one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic venues, 230 metres above the city.

SkyPoint is one of the Gold Coast’s most distinctive hospitality and events venues. From gala dinners and weddings to cocktail parties, we create memorable experiences for up to 350 guests, framed by spectacular coastal views. We are looking for an experienced hospitality or events supervisor who is ready to take ownership of event delivery, develop their leadership skills and help us deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Functions & Events Supervisor

You will oversee the operational preparation and hands‑on delivery of our events. You will lead the team on the floor, maintain premium service standards and ensure every element of the guest experience comes together seamlessly. This is a full‑time salaried position.

What you will own:

• Reviewing event run sheets and translating requirements into a clear operational plan.
• Planning event staffing requirements and allocating service roles.
• Leading team briefings and coordinating venue setup.
• Liaising with clients on operational details in the lead‑up to their event.
• Leading the hands‑on delivery of events from setup through to pack‑down.
• Coordinating food, beverage, service timing and venue presentation.
• Setting clear expectations and supporting the team throughout each event.
• Responding confidently to operational challenges and guest needs as they arise.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, responsible service, HACCP compliance, cleanliness and presentation.

The position does not carry responsibility for selling or coordinating events. Once an event is confirmed, your focus will be preparing the operation and delivering an exceptional experience on the day. You will be supported by our Food and Beverage Operations Manager and an established management structure, giving you the guidance and resources to succeed in the role. During periods without events, you will support other areas of SkyPoint’s Food and Beverage operation, including our Bistro+Bar.

What you will bring\:
