Job summary

The Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia is seeking a Functions & Hospitality Manager to plan, coordinate and deliver all club functions and events. You will lead hospitality operations, drive function sales, and enhance the guest experience while managing staffing and budgets.

Based at North Haven waterfront, the role focuses on weddings, corporate events, and member functions, with a hands-on approach to service, pricing, and promotional materials.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end functions process, from enquiry through to event delivery and post-event follow-up
• Coordinate weddings, celebrations, corporate events, conferences, member functions, and Club events
• Meet with prospective clients and prepare proposals, quotations, and event plans
• Actively drive function sales and develop strategies to increase bookings and revenue
• Maintain and develop function packages, pricing structures, and promotional material
• Ensure all events are delivered to a high standard and exceed customer expectations
• Oversee daily hospitality and bar operations
• Deliver exceptional customer service standards across all hospitality areas
• Manage beverage purchasing, stock control, inventory, and supplier relationships
• Monitor beverage margins and identify opportunities to improve profitability

Reporting to the General Manager, the Functions & Hospitality Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all Club functions and events, while overseeing the day-to-day operation of hospitality and bar services. This hands-on leadership role combines event sales, venue operations, team leadership, customer experience, and commercial performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing function revenue, strengthening the Club's hospitality offering, and enhancing the experience of members and guests.
