Job summary

The Summit Restaurant & Bar at Mount Coot-tha, Brisbane, is seeking a hands-on Functions & Events Supervisor to lead the events team from bump-in to bump-out and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You’ll coordinate weddings, corporate functions and private events in a stunning lookout venue.

Reporting to the management team, you’ll work closely with clients, kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service, high standards and memorable occasions.

Qualifications

• Experience in functions or events supervision in hospitality.
• RSA certification and Australian work rights.
• Ability to lead and coach a team in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

About the Role

Reporting to the venue management team, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination and delivery of functions and events, ensuring every event runs seamlessly from setup through to pack-down.

This is a hands-on operational role where you'll lead by example, support your team on the floor and work closely with the wider restaurant and bar operation to deliver outstanding service.

Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating and supervising functions, events and special occasions from bump-in to bump-out.

Leading, motivating and supporting the functions team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Overseeing room setups, table arrangements, event styling and service requirements.

Working closely with clients, management, kitchen and bar teams to ensure every detail is executed to a high standard.

Maintaining strong communication with clients before and during their events.

Managing staff allocation, event run sheets, service standards and operational requirements.

Being hands-on during service, stepping in wherever needed to keep events running smoothly.

Ensuring compliance with RSA, food safety, workplace health and safety requirements.

Identifying opportunities to improve event delivery, team performance and guest satisfaction.

About You

You're a natural leader who enjoys being involved in the action. You can confidently manage an event, support your team under pressure and ensure guests feel looked after from the moment they arrive.

Ideally, you'll bring:

Previous experience in functions, events, restaurant, bar or hospitality supervision.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and exceptional attention to detail.

The ability to lead, coach and motivate a team in a busy environment.

Confidence managing event timelines, client expectations and changing requirements.

A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences.

Availability to work a flexible roster, including evenings and weekends

Current RSA certification and relevant Australian work rights.
