Qualifications

• Knowledge of metal preparation, forming, joining and finishing processes.
• Ability to inspect welds and maintain consistent workmanship.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety.

About the Role

OXICUTTING SOLUTIONS PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Welder to join its team. The successful candidate will prepare, fabricate and assemble metal components, ensuring that all completed work meets technical drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and job requirements.

Select suitable metal stock and clean and prepare materials for fabrication and welding.

Cut marked metal sections and profiles using hand tools, flame-cutting equipment and metal-cutting machinery.

Shape and bend metal components and pipes using manual and powered tools, applying heat and hammering techniques where required.

Measure, position and align components accurately before joining, using appropriate tools and measuring equipment.

Join metal components using a range of welding methods and mechanical fastening techniques, including bolting and riveting.

Check completed welds for correct bead width, adequate penetration and dimensional accuracy.

Finish fabricated products by cleaning, polishing and filing surfaces, including acid treatment where required and in accordance with safe handling procedures.

Remove excess weld material and smooth joints using grinding, filing and chiselling techniques.

Skills and Experience

At least one year of relevant experience in welding and metal fabrication.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Practical experience using welding equipment, cutting machinery and fabrication tools.

Knowledge of metal preparation, forming, joining and finishing processes.

Ability to inspect welds and maintain consistent workmanship.
