Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland is seeking a compassionate Patient Service Assistant to join our Operating Suite team. You will help transport patients, assist with transfers, cleaning, and provide support across the Operating Suite, Endoscopy and Day Procedure Unit in a safe, patient‑centred environment.

The role requires teamwork with clinical and non-clinical staff, a focus on safety and quality patient care, and adherence to policies and infection prevention standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe transport and transfer of patients across the Operating Suite, Endoscopy Suite, and Day Procedure Unit.
• Perform cleaning and environmental support duties per infection prevention standards.
• Support the efficient operation of clinical areas by completing tasks accurately, safely, and within required timeframes.
• Adhere to departmental policies, privacy requirements and workplace health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Maintain high standards of customer service with professionalism, compassion and respect.
