Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland is inviting applications for a casual Food Services Assistant to join the Catering Services team. You will support patient meal service, assist with kitchen duties, and help maintain a safe, courteous, and responsive dining experience.

Ideal candidates have a current Safe Food Certificate or willingness to obtain one, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Safe Food Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience in customer service with a strong commitment to patient care.
• Good understanding of dietary needs and food safety requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively, follow procedures and adapt to change.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Compassion, respect and a professional approach when supporting patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plate and distribute patient meals in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning, including dishes, benches, equipment and floors.
• Deliver a safe, high-quality, and customer-focused service.
• Follow all hospital policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Contribute as a flexible and reliable member of the Catering Services team.
