Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Patient Service Assistant to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) 6 month Fixed term basis.

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Patient Service Assistant to join our Operating Suite team. In this important support role, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care by assisting with patient transport, transfers, cleaning services, and general support activities across the Operating Suite, Endoscopy Suite, and Day Procedure Unit. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical staff, you will help maintain a safe, welcoming, and person-focused environment.

The role of the Patient Service Assistant is to:

  • Assist with the safe transport and transfer of patients throughout the Operating Suite, Endoscopy Suite, and Day Procedure Unit.
  • Perform cleaning and environmental support duties in accordance with infection prevention, safety standards, and organisational procedures.
  • Support the efficient operation of clinical areas by ensuring tasks are completed accurately, safely, and within required timeframes.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, privacy requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and respect when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues .
About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Passionate about supporting patients and contributing to high-quality healthcare services
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a person-centred approach.
  • Previous healthcare experience and/or a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or equivalent) will be highly regarded.
