Job description

We are seeking an experienced FRP Operations Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day delivery of our Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete operations across multiple construction projects.

The FRP Operations Manager will work closely with company management, Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Foremen and Safety personnel to ensure projects are adequately resourced, programmed effectively and delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is a senior operational role requiring strong leadership, extensive FRP construction knowledge and the ability to oversee multiple projects and site teams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the operational delivery of Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete works across multiple projects.

Manage and coordinate Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors, Foremen and site crews.

Monitor project programs, construction sequences, labour requirements and upcoming works.

Allocate labour and resources across projects based on project requirements and priorities.

Ensure adequate labour, materials, plant and equipment are available to maintain project programs.

Monitor site productivity, labour performance and overall operational efficiency.

Identify potential delays, labour shortages, material issues or construction problems and implement solutions.

Conduct regular site visits and maintain communication with site management teams.

Coordinate with Project Managers and Foremen regarding daily and weekly operational requirements.

Review upcoming pours, formwork cycles, reinforcement works and major project milestones.

Assist with planning and sequencing FRP works to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.

Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, project requirements and company standards.

Monitor workmanship and quality across all FRP operations.

Assist site teams with resolving technical and construction-related issues.

Ensure company procedures, site requirements and safety standards are being followed.

Work closely with the WHS/Safety team to maintain high safety standards across all projects.

Participate in project planning, progress and operational meetings.

Liaise with builders, clients, subcontractors and suppliers where required.

Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed in accordance with project requirements.

Assist management with workforce planning and recruitment requirements.

Mentor and support Project Managers, Foremen, Supervisors and other site leadership.

Maintain accountability across site teams and address performance or operational issues when required.

Provide regular project and operational updates to company management.

Assist with the mobilisation and establishment of new projects.

Coordinate the movement and allocation of company plant, equipment and resources between projects.

Drive continuous improvement across FRP operations, systems, productivity and project delivery.

Skills & Experience

Extensive experience within FRP construction – Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete.

Previous experience in a senior operational, construction or project management position.

Strong understanding of structural concrete construction and FRP sequencing.

Demonstrated experience managing multiple construction projects and large site teams.

Strong leadership and people-management skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural drawings and project documentation.

Strong understanding of labour planning, programming and construction productivity.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with management, clients and site teams.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Strong understanding of WHS requirements and construction industry standards.

Current Australian Driver Licence.

Construction White Card.

The FRP Operations Manager is expected to take ownership of the overall operational performance of FRP projects and ensure there is clear communication between Management, Project Managers, Foremen and site teams.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and solutions-focused, with a strong site presence and the ability to keep multiple projects moving efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
