Job summary

Laverty Pathology in Coonabarabran is seeking a Pathology Collector on a permanent part-time basis (35 hours/week, Mon–Fri 7am–2pm). You will collect blood samples, gather pathology specimens, perform routine diagnostics, and ensure high-quality patient experiences in a frontline role within our Healius Pathology Network.

Applicants with pathology collection experience are preferred; certificates in pathology collection are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in pathology collection is preferred.
• Healthcare or customer-facing background acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and manage the waiting area with professionalism.
• Perform venepuncture and collect pathology specimens.
• Conduct ECGs and other diagnostic checks as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and specimen logs.
• Prepare and package specimens for transport to laboratories.
• Handle patient payments where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe collection environment.
