Job summary

InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach is seeking a Front Office Supervisor to lead the Front Office team and deliver exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure. You will coach staff, manage daily operations, and provide local recommendations to guests while ensuring brand standards are met.

The role requires at least 1 year in a hotel front desk or guest service position, strong communication, and the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

What's the job?

As a Front Office Supervisor, you'll lead by example at the front desk, ensuring seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure. You'll support, coach, and develop the Front Office team while handling daily operations, providing local recommendations, and anticipating guest needs. Most importantly, you'll create a welcoming atmosphere that makes every guest feel at home.

Your day to day

Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience, checking in guests according to brand standards

Lead, coach, and develop the Front Office team, including coordinating onboarding and training for new colleagues

Act as a key point of contact for the Front Office team, providing guidance, support, and operational leadership to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Take and manage guest bookings, using Opera Cloud, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay

Check out guests, receiving payments and processing transactions as outlined in procedures.

Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone

Stay one step ahead of guests’ needs – record and act on their preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions and concerns

Completes the beginning and ending shift duties that includes; upkeep of cashier float, shift reports and any other daily, weekly and monthly reports required by management

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of InterContinental facilities and services to assist guests and aid in selling or up-selling Hotel services.

What we need from you

You must have a valid Australia work visa which allows for unrestricted employment. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

At least one year in a hotel front desk or guest service position.

Experience supporting, leading, and motivating a high-performing team.

Exceptional confident communication and genuinely enjoy speaking with guests.

Guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments; you will be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.

You will need problem solving skills to turn issues into opportunities, so every guest leaves with great memories.

Available to work some weekends and holiday shifts when required which are all part of the job

Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines.

You will need a good grasp of reading, writing, and basic math's and computers

Ability to be on your feet most of the day, with lots of bending and kneeling.

Ability to lift, push and pull large objects like up to 50lbs (23 kg) on occasion.
