Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join our North Turramurra Facility in a Full-Time role (76 hours per fortnight). You’ll work with Physiotherapists and Allied Health Professionals to support older adults to stay active and engaged.

Deliver safe, meaningful exercise and re-enablement programs, run group sessions and 1:1 activities, and help residents move with confidence. Southern Cross Care offers salary packaging and extensive staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
• Experience in physiotherapy assistance is desirable.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support exercise for older adults.

Requirements

Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (specialising in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy) or equivalent such as Certificate III or IV in Fitness

Experience in physiotherapy assistance

Have knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support safe and effective exercise within the aging population

A warm, friendly and empathic approach with a passion for Aged Care

Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills are essential

Computer literacy skills such as using mobile devices and web applications a must

Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including the ability to work within the scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Physiotherapist/Allied Health Professional
