Job summary

Belmondos Organic Market in Noosa is seeking a Fresh Produce Manager to oversee all aspects of the produce department. You will manage purchasing, quality control, presentation, and waste management, building direct relationships with growers to ensure fresh, ethically sourced produce.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will partner with the Executive Chef to coordinate kitchen supply and maintain high floor standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in fresh produce procurement and retail display.
• Pre-existing networks with local organic growers and primary producers.
• Ability to safely maneuver heavy produce bins and pallets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all produce meets freshness, presentation, and rotation standards on the shop floor.
• Purchase directly from growers, producers, and importers to ensure transparent pricing.
• Coordinate produce supply with the Executive Chef for kitchen needs.
• Track and minimise waste through accurate ordering and rotation practices.
• Lead, train, and motivate staff and manage weekly rosters within budget.

The Fresh Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the produce department, including purchasing, quality control, presentation, and waste management. This role ensures the business receives fresh, high-quality, and ethically sourced produce by building direct relationships with growers and producers to reduce reliance on middlemen. The manager works collaboratively with our Executive Chef for kitchen supply and reports directly to the Store Manager to ensure floor presentation meets the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all produce meets strict standards for freshness, presentation, and rotation on the shop floor
• Purchase directly from growers, producers, and importers to eliminate unnecessary middlemen and achieve transparent pricing
• Work closely with the Executive Chef to coordinate produce supply, ensuring consistency and seamless ordering
• Track and minimise waste through accurate ordering, smart rotation practices, and proactive markdown strategies
• Lead, train, and motivate produce staff and manage weekly rosters within budget to ensure optimal floor coverage
