Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking an experienced Fraud Manager to lead the Fraud & Scams Operations function. You will drive identification, assessment, and mitigation of fraud risks across customers, products, and operations, ensuring strong controls and customer protection outcomes.

You will oversee day-to-day fraud operations, investigations, escalations, reporting, and continuous improvement, while partnering with stakeholders to balance customer outcomes with regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in fraud operations, investigations, and case management in regulated environments.
• Proven success leading high-performing operational teams.
• Deep understanding of fraud typologies, scam risks, and risk management frameworks.
• Experience evaluating controls and improving detection through governance processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Fraud & Scams Operations activities.
• Oversee fraud investigations and customer protection outcomes.
• Review and approve high-risk fraud cases within delegated authority.
• Serve as primary escalation point for Fraud Analysts; identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Support fraud risk assessments and control effectiveness reviews.
• Analyze fraud trends, detection performance, and investigation outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement of fraud processes and controls.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Fraud Analysts.
• Manage team performance and workforce planning.
• Prioritize and allocate resources to fraud risk priorities.
