Bakers Delight is seeking a Franchise Operations Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of bakeries and work closely with franchise partners to drive commercial performance, profitability and growth.

This senior leadership role offers real autonomy, split between the office and bakery visits, with regular travel between sites and opportunities to shape the future of an established Australian brand.

Qualifications

• Commercially minded leader with experience in fast-paced retail environments.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to interpret P&L and performance data.
• Experience in franchising, retail, operations or logistics.
• Willingness to travel regularly between bakery sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial performance of a portfolio of Bakers Delight bakeries using P&L, sales and data.
• Navigate complex situations, balance priorities, engage stakeholders, drive practical solutions.
• Monitor industry trends, manage change and drive innovation.
• Identify risks and opportunities across the network to improve operating profits.
• Collaborate with franchisees and internal teams on growth plans, openings, acquisitions and changes.
• Partner with National Support Office teams to implement initiatives that improve franchisee performance and customer experience.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on bakery visits to understand on-the-ground realities.

Bakers Delight is looking for a Franchise Operations Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of bakeries and work closely with franchise partners to drive commercial performance, profitability and growth.

This is a high-impact retail role with genuine autonomy and flexibility. You’ll split your time between the office and the road, working directly with bakeries and franchise partners to navigate challenges, lift performance and unlock opportunities for growth.

The Role

• Own the commercial performance of a portfolio of Bakers Delight bakeries, building strong relationships with franchise partners and using P&L, sales and operational data to identify opportunities, identify levers and drive outcomes.
• Navigate complex and challenging situations, balancing competing priorities, stakeholder engagement and drive practical solutions.
• Navigate industry, landscape and internal innovation and change management.
• Identify risks and opportunities across the network and initiate action to improve business performance and operating profits
• Work with franchisees and internal stakeholders on growth plans, new bakery openings, acquisitions and changeovers.
• Partner with National Support Office teams to implement initiatives that improve franchisee performance, brand performance and customer experience.
• Balance strategic thinking with a hands‑on approach, spending time in bakeries and understanding what is happening on the ground.

About You

• A commercially minded leader who can influence, solve problems and “get things done” in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including confidence interpreting and managing P&L, sales and performance data.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach, with a proven ability to navigate complex situations, competing priorities and change to deliver positive outcomes.
• Experience in retail, operations, logistics, franchising or another fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with business owners following national and state strategic direction, whilst also working autonomously.
• A current full Australian driver's licence and comfortable to undertake regular travel between bakery sites.
