Job summary

Googong High School will open to year 7 and 8 students in 2027, serving a growing community in the Queanbeyan region. The founding Careers Adviser will help establish flexible curricula and pathways within the Pathways and Academy team, shaping opportunities that reflect students’ interests and skills.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach Careers or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Careers qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education
• Excellent understanding of the changing career needs of students and the ability to contribute to a curriculum which is tailored to support all students in their learning pathway.
• Exemplary personal, interpersonal and communication skills, with the proven ability to build relationships with both students, staff and external providers to strengthen a school’s curriculum offerings.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of pathways and curriculum design in Careers education.
• Collaborate with executive to establish pathways and partnerships (Study,Work,Grow).
• Support teachers in implementing learning skills (RECONI) across subjects.
