Job summary

Macquarie Telecom is seeking a hands-on Network & Security Engineer to own and operate critical Fortinet-based security infrastructure across internal and customer environments.

You will manage FortiGate, SD-WAN, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and FortiSASE, lead troubleshooting and platform upgrades, and design security improvements while mentoring peers. A strong background in enterprise networks and NSE7+ is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on network security engineering experience.
• Strong ownership of incidents, changes, upgrades and technical outcomes.
• Experience managing production infrastructure, security patching, firmware upgrades, change control, backup and recovery.
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams, vendors and customers while communicating complex issues clearly.
• A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Fortinet Certified Professional (NSE 7 or higher) in Network Security, SD‑WAN and SASE, or equivalent demonstrable specialist expertise.
• ITIL Foundation certification or practical experience with formal incident, problem and change management.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of shared network security infrastructure.
• Work across Fortinet portfolio including FortiGate, SD-WAN, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiSASE.
• Lead troubleshooting, platform upgrades and security improvements.
• Design solutions and strengthen operational capability.
• Mentor engineers and share expertise.
