Job summary

Macquarie Telecom’s Product & Engineering team is seeking a Network & Security Engineer specialising in Fortinet platforms to own critical security infrastructure and Fortinet deployments.

You’ll troubleshoot, upgrade platforms, design security solutions, and collaborate with engineering, service delivery and customer teams to maintain secure, resilient services. Fortinet portfolio includes FortiGate, FortiSASE, FortiSwitch, FortiAP.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on network security engineering.
• Advanced FortiGate and next-generation firewall expertise.
• FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer/FortiAuthenticator administration.
• Strong networking fundamentals: BGP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs.
• Operational FortiSwitch, FortiAP and FortiSASE experience.
• Production infrastructure management, patching and upgrades.
• Strong documentation of configurations and runbooks.
• Engineering or CS degree; NSE7+ or equivalent certification.
• ITIL Foundation or incident/change management experience.

Responsibilities

• Own critical network security infrastructure and Fortinet platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, drive platform improvements and escalations.
• Collaborate with engineering, service delivery and customers.
• Design and implement security solutions, upgrades and changes.
• Document configurations, runbooks and support procedures.
