Job summary

Talent Corp is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer in Sydney, Australia, to architect and implement FortiGate and F5-based security solutions on a 12-month contract. The role involves hands-on firewall, load-balancer and network infra work across a large enterprise, with a focus on design, risk assessment and stakeholder guidance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant vendor certifications.
• Extensive network and security engineering experience in large, complex environments, ideally within financial services.
• Advanced hands-on FortiGate experience: builds, configuration, routing, policies & compliance.
• Strong F5 experience across LTM, GTM and APM: load-balancing, proxies and auth profiles.
• Routing and switching experience including BGP, OSPF, etc.
• Experience designing high-level and detailed network security designs.
• Knowledge of IPS/IDS technologies: policy config, implementation & event analysis.
• Automation and scripting with Python, Ansible or Terraform.
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team.

Senior Network Security Engineer - FortiGate and F5

A leading financial services provider is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer with advanced FortiGate and F5 expertise to join its team on an initial twelve-month contract.

Joining a collaborative network security engineering team, you will deliver network security changes and project initiatives across a large, complex enterprise environment. This hands-on role will involve building, configuring, deploying and upgrading firewall, load-balancing and network infrastructure, as well as improving performance, resilience and security.

You will also produce high-level and detailed designs, assess technical risks and provide specialist advice to technology and business stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant vendor certifications
• Extensive network and security engineering experience gained within large, complex environments, ideally within financial services
• Advanced hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls, including builds, configuration, routing, security policies and compliance
• Strong F5 experience across LTM, GTM and APM, including load-balancing solutions, proxies and authentication profiles
