Optus, based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, seeks a senior network security expert to design, govern, and manage secure network architectures while ensuring compliance with security standards. You will collaborate with engineering, cyber security, and operations teams to approve secure solutions including firewalls, segmentation, and encryption technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in telecommunications or large enterprise environments.
• Strong Fortinet and Check Point expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, govern, and manage secure network architectures.
• Design, implement, and maintain firewall solutions using Fortinet and Check Point.
• Provide Tier-3 security support for complex incidents.
• Translate security requirements into scalable firewall designs.
• Deliver migrations, upgrades, and high-availability implementations.
• Collaborate with Network, Cyber Security and Operations teams.
• Perform security assessments and root-cause analysis for firewall/VPN services.
• Contribute scripting to improve operations and repeatability.
