Job summary

Cityform Concrete Construction is hiring a dedicated Formwork Carpenter for a full-time, permanent role in Caringbah, NSW. The position entails interpreting drawings, assembling and dismantling formwork, and ensuring safe, precise installations for concrete structures.

Salary ranges from AUD 80,000 to AUD 90,000 per year, with superannuation and a 38-hour work week. The successful candidate will have strong carpentry and formwork skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Carpentry, Formwork Carpentry or closely related building trade, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• At least one year of relevant experience in formwork carpentry or a similar construction role.
• Demonstrated experience constructing, assembling, installing and dismantling formwork for concrete structures.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, structural plans and technical specifications accurately.
• Proficiency in using carpentry hand tools, power tools and formwork systems.
• Strong understanding of formwork installation techniques, measurements, alignment, bracing and workplace safety.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a construction team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings, structural plans and technical specifications to determine formwork requirements, dimensions, materials and installation procedures.
• Measure and mark out work areas to establish correct positioning, levels, alignment and dimensions of formwork structures.
• Select, measure, cut and prepare timber, plywood and other formwork materials using appropriate carpentry hand tools and power tools.
• Construct, assemble and install timber and plywood formwork for concrete foundations, footings, slabs, columns, walls, beams and other structural concrete elements.
• Erect and secure formwork panels, frames, supports, props and bracing systems to maintain structural stability during concrete placement.
• Fabricate and assemble custom formwork components, including cutting, shaping, joining and fastening timber and plywood to meet project specifications.
• Install and adjust prefabricated and conventional formwork systems, ensuring accurate positioning, levels, dimensions and alignment.
• Inspect and verify completed formwork installations before concrete placement, identifying and correcting defects, misalignments or structural deficiencies.
• Dismantle and remove formwork after concrete has achieved the required strength, ensuring the safe removal of panels, supports and temporary structures.
• Inspect, maintain, repair and prepare reusable formwork materials and components for subsequent installations, while complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
