Job summary

Western Precast is seeking a highly experienced carpenter to join our on-site construction team in Sydney. You will read blueprints and drawings, determine materials, take precise measurements, and cut/shape materials to build frames, doors, stairs and fixtures.

The role requires at least 2 years of carpentry experience, a Certificate III in Carpentry, and a White Card. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver safe, high-quality precast installations.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience as a carpenter.
• Certificate III in Carpentry is required.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card) required.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand material and construction requirements.
• Determine materials needed for each job.
• Take measurements and calculate sizes and amounts of material.
• Cut and shape building materials (e.g., fiberglass and steel) according to measurements.
• Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frames using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
• Lay out floorings, roofing or drywalls ensuring level and compatibility.
• Inspect areas and carry out repairs or maintenance.
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
• Assemble and fasten materials to erect framework.
• Install structures and fixtures.
