Job summary

CFM Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter for ongoing civil construction projects in Grafton and Coffs Harbour, NSW. The role involves constructing, assembling and dismantling formwork for footings, slabs and suspended concrete structures, in line with plans and specifications.

Applicants should hold AQF Certificate III or IV in Carpentry, have proven formwork carpentry experience, and be able to read drawings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials and layouts
• Order and select timbers and materials and prepare layouts
• Cut materials and assemble and nail components
• Erect framework and roof framing and verify trueness of structures
• Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and frames
• Assemble prepared wood into structures ready for installation
• Cut wood joints

Job description

CFM Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter for ongoing civil construction

projects in Grafton and Coffs Harbour, NSW.

The role involves constructing, assembling and dismantling formwork for footings, slabs, pits and

suspended concrete structures, including measuring, cutting and fitting formwork materials in

accordance with plans and specifications.

A strong commitment to site safety and quality standards is essential. Applicants should have proven

experience in formwork carpentry, the ability to read plans and specifications, experience using

relevant hand and power tools, and reliable transport.

Key Responsibilities include

• studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and
• ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts
• cutting materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts
• erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying
• trueness of structures
• nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window
• frames
• assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
• cut wood joints

What We are Looking For:

• AQF Certificate III or IV in Carpentry or relevant field (required)
• Proven experience in civil and commercial structure construction (required)
• Ability to read and interpret both formwork and steel reinforcement drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test
• Experience leading a team (nice to have)
• Additional tickets are highly regarded (eg. EWP, working at heights)
