Job summary

Steppe Reinforcement Pty Ltd is seeking a Formwork Carpenter to join our Brisbane team. You will build, install and dismantle formwork for concrete structures, coordinate with steel fixers and concreters, and ensure work meets plans, specs, and safety standards.

Based in New Farm, Brisbane, the role covers multiple sites across South East Queensland. White Card mandatory; Certificate III preferred. Full-time, permanent position with a stable pipeline of projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Formwork Carpenter or similar role.
• Certificate III in Carpentry or related trade (preferred but not essential).
• Ability to read and follow construction drawings and instructions.
• White Card (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Building, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, beams, and slabs.
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Setting out, aligning, bracing, and levelling formwork to meet engineering and safety standards.
• Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber, plywood, and other materials for formwork systems.
• Safely stripping formwork while maintaining the integrity of concrete structures.
• Measuring and marking materials accurately using appropriate tools.
• Installing temporary supports, structures, and safety barriers as required.
• Operating hand tools, power tools, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintaining and repairing formwork systems and timber components.
• Complying with WHS requirements, building codes, and company procedures.

Job Description

Steppe Reinforcement PTY LTD Working under the direction of the site supervisor, you will construct, install, and strip formwork for concrete structures, working alongside steel fixers, concreters, and other trades to complete projects safely, to specification, and on schedule. The role is based in Brisbane, with work locations varying depending on project requirements.

The successful candidate may be required to work across different construction sites in South East Queensland as directed by the employer.

Task & responsibilities

• Building, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, beams, and slabs
