Job summary

Abyss Construction Pty Ltd is seeking skilled Formwork Carpenters to join our civil construction team on sites around Sydney and regional NSW. You will set up, construct and dismantle timber formwork for concrete structures, interpret blueprints, and collaborate with site teams to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Carpentry, at least 2 years of carpentry experience, and a valid White Card.

Qualifications

Certificate III in Carpentry.
Minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings/plans.
Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials and techniques.
Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
White Card and relevant certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Set up, construct, and dismantle timber formwork for concrete structures (walls, slabs, columns, beams).
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications for precise formwork construction.
Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and install formwork materials.
Erect scaffolding and temporary structures as needed.
Maintain high safety standards on-site and keep area clean and organized.
Inspect and repair formwork as required.
Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers and other trades to meet deadlines.
