Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Carpentry AQF Certificate III including at least two years on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
• Demonstrated experience in commercial formwork and concrete structure projects
• Ability to read construction drawings and formwork plans
• Experience constructing, installing and dismantling formwork systems for concrete structures
• Ability to work safely at heights and within active construction environments
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements on construction sites
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and meet project deadlines

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications
• Measure, cut, assemble and install timber and formwork materials
• Construct, install and dismantle formwork systems for concrete structures including slabs, walls, columns and beams
• Carry out carpentry and formwork works in accordance with project requirements and safety standards
• Operate hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely and effectively
• Work with site supervisors and other trades to complete projects within required timeframes
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment in accordance with WHS requirements

Top Deck is currently seeking experienced Formwork Carpenters to join its team on major commercial construction projects across Sydney. This is a full-time position suited to candidates with strong experience in commercial formwork, concrete structures and construction site operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications
• Measure, cut, assemble and install timber and formwork materials
• Construct, install and dismantle formwork systems for concrete structures including slabs, walls, columns and beams
• Carry out carpentry and formwork works in accordance with project requirements and safety standards
• Operate hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely and effectively
• Work with site supervisors and other trades to complete projects within required timeframes
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment in accordance with WHS requirements

About You

For this role, you should have:

• Trade qualification in Carpentry (AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV) or equivalent relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience in commercial formwork and concrete structure projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, formwork plans and specifications
• Experience constructing, installing and dismantling formwork systems for concrete structures
• Ability to work safely at heights and within active construction environments
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements on construction sites
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and meet project deadlines
• Experience working on commercial or high-rise construction projects
• Experience using proprietary formwork systems (e.g. PERI, Doka or similar systems)
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Valid driver licence and reliable transport
