Universal Concrete Construction in Sydney seeks an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join the team. You will read drawings, measure and assemble formwork, and install bracing for concrete structures across projects.

Responsibilities include ensuring formwork accuracy, adhering to safety procedures, and coordinating with supervisors and other trades to meet schedules. Minimum 1 year carpentry/formwork experience required.

Formación

• Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year experience in carpentry including formwork.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Competence with hand and power tools.

Responsabilidades

• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and plans to determine formwork requirements.

Job Description

Universal Concrete Construction Universal Concrete is seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our team. The successful applicant will construct, install and dismantle formwork for concrete structures across our construction projects. Benefits Task & responsibilities Duties Read and interpret drawings, specifications and plans to determine formwork requirements.

Measure, mark, cut and assemble timber, plywood and prefabricated formwork components. Construct and erect formwork for concrete slabs, walls, columns, beams and other structural elements. Install and secure bracing, props and supports to maintain formwork stability.

Check dimensions, alignment and levels before concrete placement. Inspect and adjust formwork during concrete pours as required. Strip formwork once authorised, and clean, repair and store components for reuse.

Use hand and power tools to complete carpentry and formwork tasks. Responsibilities Ensure completed formwork meets project drawings, specifications and quality requirements. Follow site safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Identify and report hazards, defects and unsafe conditions promptly. Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet construction schedules. Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.

Handle materials efficiently and minimise waste. Qualification & experience Qualifications and experience Relevant Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification. A minimum of one year of relevant work experience in carpentry, including formwork.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Practical knowledge of formwork systems, materials and construction methods. Competence in using relevant hand and power tools.

Construction Induction White Card. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
