Job summary

Marlu Formwork on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region seeks a motivated Carpenter to construct, install and dismantle formwork systems for concrete structures. You will read plans, ensure accurate assembly and prepare formwork safely for concrete placement, working across multiple sites with a focus on quality and safety.

This full-time role requires a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent, at least 3 years’ experience, and a White Card, with duties including measuring, cutting timber

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• Experience with formwork systems (e.g. Doka panels, suspended slabs, edge protection).
• Working at heights competency and harness use.
• Strong WHS knowledge specific to formwork operations.
• Ability to lead and guide other workers on site.
• Valid White Card (CPCCWHS1001).

Responsibilities

• Erect and dismantle formwork and falsework systems (panels, beams, columns, suspended slabs).
• Read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• Measure, cut and shape timber, plywood and other materials.
• Construct, assemble, install and dismantle formwork for concrete walls, columns, beams and slabs.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
• Monitor formwork condition and stability throughout the pour cycle.
• Handle, store, and manage formwork materials safely.
• Organise team and prepare for upcoming work stages, including materials and equipment.
• Participate in toolbox talks, site inductions, and SWMS reviews.
• Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses to the Site Supervisor immediately.
• Comply with PPE requirements and WHS legislation.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing and dismantling formwork systems, interpreting construction drawings, and ensuring formwork is accurately assembled and safely prepared for concrete placement. This is a full-time, ongoing position, working at construction sites across the Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Region.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in the industry.

Annual salary will be between $85,000 to $110,000 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
