Job summary

Sims Limited invites applications for a hands-on Forklift Operator/Yard Hand at our Minto site. This day shift role offers consistent hours, opportunities to gain additional tickets, and on-the-job training to upskill you over time.

You will operate a forklift, load/unload vehicles, sort metals, and deliver customer service in the yard while upholding safety standards and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence is mandatory.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work independently and stay on task.
• Professional, customer-focused approach in the yard.

Responsibilities

• Operate the forklift to load/unload trucks, skip bins and trailers.
• Sort and grade ferrous and non-ferrous metal in the yard.
• Provide high standard of service to customers in the yard.
• Help keep the yard safe and running efficiently.

We're looking for a hands-on Forklift Operator/Yard Hand to join our team at Minto, with genuine opportunity to gain additional tickets and upskill over time.

This is a day shift role with consistent hours and real variety in the work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operating the forklift
• Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins and trailers
• Sorting and grading ferrous and non-ferrous metal
• Providing a high standard of service to customers in the yard
• Helping keep the yard safe and running efficiently

What You'll Need

• A current forklift licence
• A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• A professional, customer-focused approach when dealing with people on-site
• Willingness to learn and take on new tickets over time
• Experience in scrap metal, recycling or a similar industry is a bonus but we'll provide training for the right person
